There are generally three types of materials used to create enduring memorials: granite, marble and bronze.
GRANITE
Granite is the most commonly used material and is available in numerous colors such as, but not limited to: traditional grays, blacks, a variety of reds, pinks, browns, greens, and near whites.
While there are many beautiful granites found all over the world, only 10-30% of quarried granite is memorial grade quality. In Colorado’s sometimes harsh weather of drastic temperature swings over a short time, granite can stand the test of time.
Marble
Marble has been used for centuries and is well known for its traditional beauty and soft nature that lends itself to intricate carvings. White is the most popular color used in monuments and typically has various degrees of gray “veining” adding to its attractiveness.
Bronze
is called the “eternal metal” and is used for flat markers, statuary, and as ornamentation in combination with granite and marble.
